In 2006, Elaine Downing asked Crickmay to support the Bantabami Trust. Bantabami support children who have been affected and infected by HIV and Aids at different locations in and around the greater Pietermaritzburg area i.e. Ashdown, Plessieslaer, Edendale.
In 2006, Elaine Downing asked Crickmay to support the Bantabami Trust. Bantabami support children who have been affected and infected by HIV and Aids at different locations in and around the greater Pietermaritzburg area i.e. Ashdown, Plessieslaer, Edendale.
Many of the homes are run either by a grandparent or older siblings. Bantabami is a registered nonprofit organisation started in 2000 by Holy Trinity Church. Crickmay make a monthly donation which goes towards feeding a number of families.

Continued support of the project requires that Elaine Downing and Philemon Nxele visit the recipients once a year to ensure that the money is being spent wisely. In May 2009, Philemon and Elaine went to Ashdown to visit some of the homes to meet the residents
